[MPEG] [Docking Station]
Along with the system you may have received either a driver CD or Diskette. Use appropriate media when indicated.
Suspend to Disk Partition (Windows 95/98)
1. If you have a Utility CD-ROM, copy the file "0vmakfil.exe" from "Notebook Utilities & Drivers Ver.1.0 CD" to a
    bootable DOS disk.
2. Boot up from a bootable DOS disk.
3. Insert the disk with 0VMAKFIL.EXE in the floppy drive.
4. From A:\, type 0vmakfil -pXX, where XX is a number greater than the sum of  system memory and video
    memory in megabytes. (Recommended 84 MB)
5. After partition is created, reboot the system.

Trackpad Drivers
Windows 95
1. Insert the disk labeled MouseWare95 into the floppy drive, run A:\SETUP, OR from the Utility CD-ROM, run     D:\LOGITECH\SETUP, and choose Express Setup.

AUDIO
 Windows 95
1. From the start button, go to Settings / Control Panel / System / Device Manager.
2. Under the category Sound, video and game controllers, remove the ESS 1688 Audio Drive item.
3. Under the category Other Devices, select Unknown Device, and select Properties / Driver / Update Driver.
4. Insert the ESS 1788 Audio Driver for Win95 diskette, and select Yes to let Win95 search for the driver.
5. Click on Next, and Setup will find Yamaha OPL3-SAx Sound System.
6. It will find ESS 1788 Plug and Play AudioDrive. Select Finish. When prompted to insert "Install Disk 1",
    select OK, and type in A:\ (or d:\ess95 on the CD-ROM). Win95 will start copy files from diskette.

Windows NT 4.0
1. From the Start button, go to Control Panel / Multimedia.
2. Click on the Devices tab / Add, and select Unlisted Updated Driver.
3. Insert Utility Diskette # 11 ( ESS 1788 Audio Driver for NT 4.0) (can be downloaded here), and type in
    A:\16_1788 or A:\ as the directory.
4. Select ES 1688/ES1788 AudioDrive 2.00.09, and select OK.
5. After files are copied, reboot the computer.

Windows NT 3.xx
1. Insert the diskette labeled ESS-1788 Audio Driver for Win 3.xx Disk 1(Diskette 8) into drive A.
2. Run a:\setup in Windows.
3. Choose Driver Installation, and choose OK to accept the default configuration.
4. Choose to Install Software. Press Enter to confirm installation directory as C:\PCAUDIO.
5. Choose to create directory, and choose complete installation. Files will be copied from the diskettes.

VIDEO
 Windows 95
1. From the Start button, go to Settings / Control Panel / Display / Settings / Advanced Properties.
2. In the Adapter screen, choose Change / Have Disk.
3. Insert the disk labeled C&T 655XX Driver for Win95 in the floppy drive. Type in A:\ (or d:\ct95 on the
    CD-ROM), and press OK.
4. Make sure that Chips and Tech. 65550 PCI is selected, and press OK. Some files will be copied.
5. Click on Close to return to the display properties screen. Move the slider for  Desktop Area to the right to
    800 by 600. Click on Apply. After restarting Windows, Windows will be displayed on the entire screen.

Windows NT 4.0
1. From the Start button, go to Control Panel / Display / Settings.
2. Click on Change Display Type / Change.
3. Select Chips and Technology as the manufacturer, and C&T Video Accelerator as the model number.
4. Windows will ask you if you want to proceed. Click on Yes, OK, and close to return to Settings screen.
5. Click on Apply to restart the computer.
6. After Windows has restarted, go back to Control Panel / Settings.
7. Move the Desktop Area slider to 800 x 600, and select either 256 or 65536 colors.
8. Click on Test to test the new settings. After 5 seconds, you will be returned to the settings screen. Click
    on Apply or OK for the new settings to take effect.

Windows NT 3.xx
1. Insert the diskette labeled C&T 655XX Driver for DOS/Win 3.x PCI (Diskette 3) into drive A.
2. Run A:\Setup from DOS.
3. Press Enter to select Windows 3.1 (6555x Accelerated Driver).
4. Press Enter to select All resolution, and press End to continue.
5. Press Enter to confirm the Windows directory, and files will be copied from the Diskette.
6. After files are copied, press ESC to return to DOS.
7. From the C:\Windows directory in DOS, type Setup.
8. Select Display, and select Chips Multimedia 65550 800x600x256, and press enter.
9. Press Enter to accept the current configuration, and press Enter again to keep the current driver.

PCMCIA
 Windows 95
 1. From the start button, go to Settings / Control Panel / System / Device Manager.
2. Remove all devices listed under the category of PCMCIA Sockets.
3. Expand the branch of System Devices, and click on PCI Bus / Properties.
4. Click on IRQ Steering, and check the box for "Get IRQ table from PCIBIOS 2.1 Call". Then click on OK.
5. In Device Manager, click on Refresh. You should now see 2 TI-1131 CardBus Controllers.
6. For both TI-1131 Controllers, double click on the item, and clear the box labeled "Disable in Current
    Configuration."
7. PCMCIA Wizard will start. Answer no to each question. Do not restart the computer until you have enabled
    both PCMCIA controllers.
8. Do Not install PCMCIA Driver for Win95 or any other PCMCIA Software.

Windows NT4.0
1. Go to Control Panel / Ports / Add, and enter the following information: COM Port number 3, Base I/O Port
    Address 03E8, and Interrupt Request IRQ 5.
2. After Windows has restarted, go to Control Panel / PCMCIA. You will see  the Modem card identified as the
    card in slot 0 or 1. Select it, and click on Properties / Resources.
3. Record the resources assigned by Windows NT, and go back to Control Panel / Ports to make adjustments
    accordingly if necessary. Reboot if any changes were made.
4. Go to Control Panel / Modem, and let Windows NT detect the modem automatically. It should find the
    modem on COM 3.
5. After it finds the modem, click on Next / Finish. You can use the modem now.

Windows 3.xx
 1. Insert PCMCIA Driver for Win3.xx (Diskette 14) in the floppy drive.
2. Run a:\setup in Windows.
3. Choose 2 for the number of PCMCIA slots.
4. Select Custom Installation, and Select OK to confirm the Cardwizard path.
5. Allow Setup to modify CONFIG.SYS and SYSTEM.INI and WIN.INI.
6. If only network cards and modems are used for the PCMCIA, then deselect the boxes labeled ATA Cards,
    SRAM Cards, and FTL Flash Cards. Then, choose Install.
7. After Setup finishes copying files, remove the diskette and restart the computer.
8. After the modem is inserted, it should be configured as COM 3, IRQ 10.

Video Capture Drivers
Windows 95
1. Insert the diskette labeled MPEG Driver for Win95, and run a:\setup. Follow On Screen Instructions.
2. Repeat for the diskettes labeled MPEG Player and Chips TV for Win95 / Win 3.x.
3. If you have drivers CD-ROM, run d:\chipstv\setup.
4. Press Fn+1 from within Windows 95 to enable the Video Capture Feature.
5. Please see 9750 FAQ for further information on using the Video Capture Port.

Windows 3.xx
1. Insert the diskette labeled Chips TV for Win95/Win3.XX (Diskette 7) into Drive A.
2. From Windows, run A:\Setup.
3. After Setup is complete, to activate the Video Capture function, start the CHIPS TV program, and press
    Fn+1.

CD-Rom Driver
Windows 3.xx
1. Insert the diskette labeled Teac 6X CD-ROM Driver (Diskette 2) into drive A.
2. Run A:\setup from DOS prompt.
3. After Setup is finished, reboot the computer, and start Windows.
4. Insert Windows 3.11 Disk # 5 or Windows for Workgroup Disk # 6 into the floppy drive.
 5. Add the [MCI] CD Audio in Windows Control Panel/Drivers.

Infrared Software
Windows 95
 1. From the Utility CD-ROM (version 1.1 only), run D:\FIR_EG\INSTALL.
2. Choose Continue on the welcome screen.
3. Type in the path to be installed, or click on OK to use the default path. Files will be copied to the Hard Drive.
4. Enter a Computer name to identify your computer, and click on Continue.
5. For the Connection Setup screen, highlight Infrared in the Connection type, and click on Setup Connection.
6. In the Setup Connection screen, make sure that the Port is on COM2, and the type of Infrared device is
    CEC Fast IR Device.
7. Click on OK twice to continue with Setup. When Setup is finished, restart  Windows.
Note : If you previously installed Microsoft Infrared Driver on your computer, you must disable that driver so that it may be allocated to the Puma Tranxit software.

MPEG Driver
Windows 95
 It has been found that the MPEG drivers provided on the 9750 Utility CD-ROM (a.k.a. Arcade Media Player) will freeze the computer if used to play MPEG on a 9750 equipped with MMX CPU. Therefore it is recommended that you DO NOT install the software for VCD and MPEG from the utility CD. Use the Active Movie software provided as part of Windows 95 B OSR2 to play MPEG.

Docking Station
Windows 95
 1. Download and Update the BIOS to version 2.0 for Docking Station.
2. Reboot the computer. Press Ctrl-Alt-S to enter the CMOS BIOS Setup utility.
3. In the BIOS, Select Default Value, and enable PnP OS under Startup.
4. Save settings and restart the computer.
5. Copy both PCI.VXD and CBSS.VXD to the Windows\System directory, overwriting the older files.
6. Go to the Windows\INF direcotory, and edit the PCMCIA.INF file. Remove the semicolon in front of the
    following line:  "%PCI\VEN_1045&DEV_814.DeviceDesc=...."
7. Go to Control Panel / System / Device Manager. Find PCI Bus under  System Properties, and click on its
    Properties.
8. Under IRQ Steering, disable "Get IRQ Table from PCIBIOS 2.1 call".
9. Remove the PCI Cardbus Bridge under Other Devices.
10. Go back to Control Panel, and double click PC Card. Select Next/Next/Finish. Click OK to shut down.
11. After you power on the computer, the docking station will be operational.
