[Audio] [Video] [PCMCIA] [Trackpad]
Along with the system you may have received either a driver CD or Diskette. Use appropriate media when indicated.

Suspend to Disk Partition (Windows 95/98)
1. If you have the CD-ROM version, you will need to copy the contents of the SUSPEND directory on the Driver
    CD to a diskette on a working computer with a CD-ROM
2. Boot up from the bootable DOS disk.
3. Insert the disk with the Suspend Driver in the floppy drive. Make sure that the diskette is NOT write
    protected.
4. From the A:\Suspend directory, run "HDPREPEZ /C". This will bring up a menu. Set the DOSFILE parameter to
    0 to create the suspend-to-disk partition.
5. Go to the last item, and press Enter. Then type Y to create the HDPREP.CFG file.
6. From the A:\Suspend directory, run HDPREPEZ. This will create the s2d partition.
7. After partition is created, reboot the system.

CD-Rom Driver for Intel Chipset (Windows 3.xx only)
1. Insert the disk labeled CD-ROM Drivers.
2. Run a:\install. Click on C:\TEAC, and select Auto Select.
3. Click on OK to modify the files.
4. Start Windows, and run A:\Windows\SETUP.
5. Press Enter to confirm the C:\Teac directory. Files will be copied.
6. Press Enter to confirm the C:\Teac directory. Files will be copied.
7. Insert Windows for Workgroup Disk 6, and add [MCI] CD Audio.

AUDIO (Windows98/95)
Windows 95
1. Insert the disk labeled Windows & OS/2 Audio Driver.
2. Go to Control Panel / System / Device Manager.
3. Remove ESS 1688 Audio Drive from Sound, Video, Game Controllers, and also Unknown Device from Other
    Devices.
4. Click on Refresh. Windows will find new hardware, and search for a driver, but fails.
5. Select Other Location, and type in A:\Win95 (or D:\Audio\Win95 for Driver CD).
6. Windows will find ESS 1878 Control Interface. Click OK. Windows will find a second new hardware. This time
    it will automatically find ESS 1878 AudioDrive.
7. Click on ESS 1878 AudioDrive, and click on Properties/Resources. Disable the box for Use Automatic
    Settings.
8. Click on DMA, and Change settings. Change DMA channel from 0 to 1. Click on Close several times to
    return to control panel, and restart Windows when prompted.
9. When Windows has restarted, insert the disk for Windows 95 Audio Rack Application, and run A:\setup (or     D:\Audio\W95rack\setup for Utility CD).
10.Answer either yes or no to set use the Audio Rack to play CD.

Windows NT 4.0
1. From the Start button, go to Control Panel / Multimedia.
2. Click on the Devices tab / Add, and select Unlisted Updated Driver.
3. Insert the diskette labeled Windows & OS/2 Audio Driver, and type in A:\NT40 (or D:\Audio\NT40 for Driver
    CD) as the directory.
4. Select ES 1878 AudioDrive 2.00.40, and select OK.
5. After files are copied, reboot the computer.
6. Insert the disk labeled Audio Rack for Windows NT, and run A:\Setup.

Windows 3.xx
1. Insert the disk labeled Windows/OS Audio Driver
2. From Windows, run A:\Win31\Setup (or D:\Audio\Win31\Setup for Driver CD).
3. Choose Install Driver, and reboot the computer when prompted.

VIDEO
Windows 95 / 98
1. Insert the disk labeled Windows VGA Driver.
2. Go to Control Panel / Display / Settings / Advanced Properties.
3. In the Adapter screen, click on Change and Have Disk. Type in A:\Win95 (or D:\Video\Win95 for Driver CD).
4. Windows will find Chips & Technology 65554 PCI. Click on OK. Some files will be copied.
5. Click on Monitor / Change / Show All Devices. Select Standard Monitor Types / Laptop Display Panel
    (1024x768).
6. Click on Close, and OK to adjust the refresh rate.
7. In the Settings screen, move the desktop area slider to 1024 by 768, and restart Windows.

Windows NT 4.0
1. Insert the disk labeled Windows VGA Driver.
2. From the Start button, go to Control Panel / Display / Settings.
3. Click on Display Type, and Click on Change Adapters Type.
4. Click on Have Disk, and enter A:\NT40 (or D:\Video\NT40 for Driver CD) as the directory, and click on Open.
5. Windows will find Chips Video Accelerator (64300/10,  65535/40/45/48/50/54/55).
6. Click on OK, and Yes to proceed.
7. Click on Close twice, and restart the computer when prompter.
8. After Windows has restarted, you will see an "Invalid Display Settings" warning.
9. Move the Desktop Area slider to 1024 by 768, and select the desired color depth.

Windows 3.xx
1. Insert the disk labeled "Windows VGA Driver".
2. From DOS prompt, run A:\Win31\Setup (or D:\Video\Win31\Setup for Driver CD).
3. Press Enter to Continue, and Enter again to select Windows V3.1 (6555x accelerated driver).
4. Press Enter to select All Resolution, and End to start Installation.
5. Press Enter again to confirm the installation path.
6. After files are copied, press Enter and ESC to return to DOS.
7. From DOS prompt, change directory to C:\Windows, and run Setup.
8. Select Display, and then select C&T 6555X 1024x768x256 resolution. Press Enter again to keep current
    drivers.

PCMCIA (Windows98)
Windows 95
1. In Control Panel / System / Device Manager, remove the PCIC or compatible controller in under PCMCIA
    sockets, and the 2 TI PCI-1131 CardBus Controller listed under Other Devices.
2. Click on Refresh, and 2 TI PCI-1131 CardBus Controllers will appear under PCMCIA sockets with red X's.
3. Click on the first TI PCI-1131 controller, and click on Properties, and uncheck the box next to "disable in this
    hardware profile."
4. PCMCIA wizard will start. Answer No to each question, and finish.

Windows NT 4.0
1. Go to Control Panel / Ports / Add, and enter the following information : COM Port number 3, Base I/O Port
    Address 03E8, and Interrupt Request IRQ 5. Insert the Modem card and restart Windows NT.
2. After Windows has restarted, go to Control Panel / PCMCIA. You will see the Modem card identified as the
    card in slot 0 or 1. Select it, and click on Properties / Resources.
3. Record the resources assigned by Windows NT, and go back to Control Panel / Ports to make adjustments
    accordingly if necessary. Reboot if any changes were made.
4. Go to Control Panel / Modem, and let Windows NT detect the modem automatically. It should find the
    modem on COM 3.
5. After it finds the modem, click on Next / Finish. You may use the modem now.

Windows 3.xx
1. Insert the PCMCIA Drivers disk and run A:\Setup (or D:\PCMCIA\Setup for Driver CD).
2. Click on Continue 3 times to confirm the installation directory and the     number of sockets (2 sockets).
3. Reboot when prompted.
4. Edit the CONFIG.SYS, and remove the line with AMIDRIVE.
5. To configure PCMCIA, DO NOT install EMM386.EXE.
6. Edit the C:\AMICARD\AMICARD.INI [GenericSetup] and     
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI [386Enh] files to the following recommended settings : Modem : COM3, 0x3E8,
    IRQ 11, Network : IRQ 5, I/O 0x300

Trackpad Driver
Windows 3.x
1. Insert the diskette labeled 3MFDD/MO/Touchpad/Suspend Drivers.
2. Copy the amouse.com file from the A:\touchpad (or D:\touchpad\alps) directory to C:\.
3. Add the following line to C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT :
    Amouse.com
