How do I update the BIOS on the 51XC2
To update the BIOS on the 51XC2 to the newest version, follow this procedure
1. With the system turned off, set switches 1 and 2 under the keyboard to the On position.
2. Download the BIOS update file from the 51XC2 download page.
3. Run the downloaded executable to extract the files in the archive.
4. Boot up from a system disk. Make certain that no memory manager was loaded.
5. From the directory where the extracted files are located, execute the program.
6. The flash program will start to load the file. After it is loaded, press Enter to start.
7. Make certain that the program is not interrupted for any reason. Restart the computer when prompted.

You will need to purchase an optional S-Video to RCA Converter cable in order for you to connect theFutureMate™ 51XC2 S -Video TV-Out to the RCA connector on your TV Set.

Under which operating systems can I use the DVD-ROM to play DVD titles?
The FutureMate FM51XLP3 DVD-ROM / DVD Software can be used to play DVD titles under Windows 95 and Windows 98. There is no support for DVD under Windows NT 4.0. However, with the correct drivers installed, you are still able to use the DVD-ROM to read data CD and data DVD under all operating systems.

Why does the DVD Movie Pause or Stop and Run?
Enabling Power Management in Windows 98/95 effects the operation of DVD movie play back. This is due to constant polling by Advanced Power Management. To obtain the best performance from the DVD/MPEG 2 system, please check the following:
1. In Control Panel / System / Device Manager, click on the + sign next to CD-ROM.
2. Click on the DVD-ROM, and click on Properties / Settings.
3. Check the box labeled DMA.
4. Go back to Control Panel / System / Device Manager / System Devices / Advanced Power
5. Management Support on the properties and disable the support for Advanced Power Management.
6. Make sure, you have installed DirectX 5 or higher. Now the DVD Movie should run without pause.

I get an invalid country code error when playing my DVD. What can cause this?
One reason may be that you are trying to run a DVD from a region other than the one specified for your particular system.
For example, if your software DVD is Region 1 and your DVD is Region 2, it will not run and you will get the error message.
Please check your DVD disk and software settings for correct DVD Region.
